The Cultural Practices section of the Department of Culture and Lands Protection provides opportunities for Tłı̨chǫ youth and other citizens to practice our language, culture and way of life through organized activities on the land and in our communities.
We support and organize:
- harvesting activities such as hunting, trapping and fishing;
- traditional recreation and celebrations such as drumming, dancing and hand games;
- the creation and construction of traditional articles of clothing, artifacts and artwork;
- travel across the land with elders and youth through programs such as Trails of our Ancestors and Imbè, as well as opportunities for language and cultural learning with elders.
